Hannelore Van Der Vorst
Hannelore van der Vorst works in her professional life as a Finance leader for Nike EMEA, based in the Netherlands responsible for Strategic Investments. She has been with Nike Europe for more than two decades in a variety of Finance positions, across Western and Eastern Europe. Prior to Nike, Hannelore began her career as an auditor at a global auditing firm, Arthur Andersen in the Netherlands.
Hannelore has a master degree in Economics, specialized in Controlling, and a post master degree in public accounting both from the University of Tilburg in The Netherlands.
But most importantly, Hannelore—together with her husband—is a parent of three teenagers: Job (18), Olivier (16), and Lieve (14).
Learning and personal development has always been a key passion for Hannelore. As long as she can remember, she loved going to school. Besides—raised by parents who were both teachers—she has been educated in a culture where musical, sports, and academic development has been positively encouraged as part of her education. Hannelore believes she has benefited in many ways from the education she received, particularly the positive social element of school by making new connections in an inclusive, stimulating environment where children from diverse backgrounds come together and become friends. Still today, Hannelore gets energized by building new connections and the journey of learning—she believes in ‘a life long learning’ philosophy. She recently completed a post graduate Digital program at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. But she also learns from her own children, teammates, and friends every day. Hannelore feels privileged to be raised in an environment where good, inspiring public education is accessible for everyone. Therefore Hannelore would love to contribute to the objectives of Education at Scale to raise the quality of teaching for all children by sharing her enthusiasm, experiences, and financial expertise.
